Police officers from Maków Mazowiecki secured over 40,000 cigarettes without Polish excise duty. A 72-year-old resident of the municipality of Krasnosielc heard charges in this case.

Monika Winnik from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Maków Mazowiecki reported that a few days ago, the uniform of the economic crime team in the municipality of Krasnosielc searched the house and utility room belonging to a 72-year-old man. – They suspected that he might have cigarettes without Polish excise stamps and sell them against the applicable regulations – said Winnik.

Suspicions were confirmed – during the search, the police found a man and secured nearly 40,000. cigarettes of various brands without Polish excise stamps. – If illegal cigarettes hit the market, the State Treasury would lose nearly 48,000. zloty. The black market value of the secured goods amounted to nearly PLN 30,000, the police officer informed.

The 72-year-old was charged under the Fiscal Penal Code. It is punishable by a fine or imprisonment and confiscation of illegal goods.
