Florida’s Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium is offering readability behind the dying of its beloved resident manatee, Hugh.
After initially sharing in April that Hugh had “handed away unexpectedly” at age 38, the marine analysis establishment is now explaining that Hugh possible died after sustaining accidents from having intercourse together with his brother, Buffett.
“On the day of Hugh’s passing, Hugh and Buffett engaged in pure, but elevated, mating habits noticed and documented in manatees each in managed care and within the wild,” the group shared on Facebook July 25. “This was the primary time such heightened mating habits was witnessed between the 2 manatees.”
Because of this, Hugh sustained a “14.5 cm lengthy tear within the ventral wall” of his colon, in line with a necropsy by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fee’s Marine Mammal Pathobiology Lab, per NBC News.
