Residents of Gorzów Wielkopolski for several days – from July 3 to 7 – have to reckon with the lack of hot water in the taps. The swimming pools and saunas of the Słowianka Sports and Recreation Center will also be closed. All in connection with the connection of a new, gas-fired boiler by the local heat and power plant. The problem does not apply to those residents who use their own water heating.

“Hot water is not to be between Monday and Friday (between July 3 and July 7). All in connection with the connection of a new gas-powered boiler by the Gorzów CHP plant, which requires temporary shutdowns of the network supplying us with heated water,” officials said on social media. They added: “Supplies of cold water will not be limited, which means that you will still be able to use, for example, a washing machine and dishwasher or water for sanitary purposes.”

The problem of lack of hot water does not apply to people using their own water heating, e.g. from boilers. According to officials, during a break in the supply of hot water, the city will be closed, among others. swimming pools and saunas of the Sports and Rehabilitation Center “Słowianka”.

“We will do everything to make the break as short as possible”

Power plant PGE Energia Ciepła in Gorzów Wielkopolski is currently carrying out an investment aimed at building a peak load and reserve boiler house. This initiative will allow for the complete decommissioning of the coal-fired boiler, which is currently in reserve. The planned works are to be completed by the end of 2023.

The next stage of the investment requires connecting the newly built facility to the existing installations. For this to be possible, it is necessary to disconnect the district heating network. These works were scheduled for July 3-7.

– We assure you that we will do everything to make the break as short as possible, and our customers will feel it as little as possible – said Wojciech Dobrak, director of PGE Energia Ciepła, Elektrociepłownia Branch in Gorzów Wielkopolski, quoted in the press release.
