The roadside chapel has been standing in Studzionka near Pszczyna for 200 years. This passage of time was already visible on it. Apparently, not everyone liked it, because there was a amateur conservator who rolled up his sleeves and the chapel renewed. Now the conservation committee will assess whether this is just damage or even the destruction of the monument.
The amateur conservator tried very hard to make the chapel in Studzionka enjoy the eye of the surrounding inhabitants. – It is an object entered in the register of monuments, and thus covered by this strongest form of protection – says Mirosław Rymer from the Provincial Office for the Protection of Monuments in Katowice.
Now the conservation committee will assess whether this is just damage or even the destruction of the monument. Each of these cases is, unfortunately, the right paragraph. – We do not assume that the person who made this amateur maintenance, although I would not call it maintenance, was assumed to destroy the monument – emphasizes Mirosław Rymer.
– We make up, it will be beautiful, it will look like new. However, I think intuitively, or rather, intuition does not mistake me that it is really an object when it comes to sculpture, very high -class, deserving of real maintenance – comments dr hab. Monika Bogdanowska, conservator of monuments.

May this be a warning to amateurs of conservators
There are thousands of such chapels – like in Studzionka – throughout Poland, some very old and historic. They do not have a maxim of “do it yourself”. – This is part of our cultural identity, which is why it is necessary to protect them. Thank you for the publication of this matter, not because we are doing something noise, but maybe this will reach people who have just bought oil paint and are going somewhere – emphasizes dr hab. Monika Bogdanowska.

The picture in the church in Orchówek on the Bug man underwent real maintenance. The canvas comes from the 17th, maybe the 18th century. However, the effects of the work of a professional conservator raised doubts that the expert committee will examine.
– What was going to happen, it happened, the picture hangs on the walls of the church. Therefore, you can always go back to the beginning, or to repair what has been done badly – says Dr. Dariusz Kopciowski, Lublin Provincial Conservator of Monuments.
