A 66-year-old resident of Kisielice (warmińsko-mazurskie voivodeship) opened gas cylinders and then set them on fire. He was screaming that he was going to blow up the whole block. The officers first evacuated the building and then detained the brawler who hid in the bathroom.

Senior aspirant Joanna Kwiatkowska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Iława reported that on Thursday, January 19, the duty officer was called by the residents of one of the buildings in nearby Kisielice. They complained about the behavior of a neighbor who was allegedly playing loud music and throwing objects in his apartment.

A uniformed patrol was sent to the spot. – When they knocked on the door of the 66-year-old, he started shouting and calling the policemen. After a while, the officers heard a characteristic hiss and smelled gas, the policewoman reports.

Officers immediately evacuated the building. In the meantime, the man looked from behind the door every now and then, and carried the escaping gas cylinders into the corridor towards the entrance to the building. The fire brigade also arrived on the spot and tried to get to the 66-year-old’s apartment with a hoist.

Then the adventurer decided to set fire to the cylinders. The police decided to act quickly and forcefully entered the apartment. – They couldn’t find the 66-year-old. As it turned out, a resident of Kisielice hid in the bathroom. Despite strenuous attempts to avoid responsibility for his behavior, the man was detained and placed in a police cell – says senior asp. Kwiatkowska.

There, the 66-year-old was charged with causing a dangerous event, which is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. The court decided to place the man in detention for 3 months.
