The pilot lost control of the machine, which first began to spin rapidly around its axis, and then fell into the water several hundred meters from the shore. The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon. A police helicopter participated in exercises over Lake Balaton, also known as the “Hungarian Sea”.
The helicopter began to rotate rapidly and fell into the water
The weather did not hinder the maneuvers, but despite this the pilot lost control of the machine. This first began to rotate rapidly around its axis, and then fell into the water, about 300 meters from the shore. The event was recorded on video by a German tourist.
The pilot and passenger on board were not seriously injured and left the helicopter on their own. After the accident, the services took action to pull the machine out. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
