IMGW warns of dangerous weather. Heavy snowfall and icing are forecast in parts of the country. Check which regions have warnings.
The weather forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first degree warnings.
IMGW alerts – icing
First-level ice alerts are in effect in the following provinces:
– Lublinin southern poviats;
– Subcarpathianin northern poviats;
– Lesser Polandin northern poviats;
– ÅšwiÄ™tokrzyskieeverywhere except northern counties;
– Silesianin northern counties.
Icing of roads and pavements is forecast after sleet and wet snow. The minimum temperature will be around 0 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature at the ground will be around -1 degrees Celsius.
Alerts will expire at 8 on Tuesday.
IMGW alerts – heavy snowfall
Heavy snowfall warnings are also in effect. IMGW published in the province Silesianin the counties: Żywiec, Bielski, Bielsko-Biala and Cieszyn. 15 to 20 cm of snow may fall here.
It will be dangerous until 10 am on Tuesday.
What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning
The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution recommended, the need to follow messages and weather developments.
