A woman died after falling from the famous Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon. According to local media, when the tragedy occurred, the woman was on a trip with friends.
The incident occurred on Saturday around 1 p.m. local time. The Irish Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Center received information about a woman who had slipped off the Cliffs of Moher. This stretch of the Irish coast is popular with tourists for its beautiful scenery.
Not the first accident
A rescue helicopter and Coast Guard boats rushed to the scene. Although the woman's body was located quite quickly, the crews managed to remove it from the water only two hours later – due to weather conditions, rescuers could not safely get to it.
According to local media, at the time of the accident, the woman was on a trip with three friends. At one point she slipped and fell off a cliff into the water.
The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland's most popular tourist hotspots, attracting approximately 1.5 million visitors annually. This is not the first fatal accident in this area – in 2019, an Indian citizen fell into the ocean while taking photos.
