Italian police seized 900,000 euros (over four million zlotys) from the account of Franca Portadibasso, known as “fairy Asia”. The woman was to make a fortune, among other things, by telling the future and promising the seriously ill to recover. She demanded 31,000 euros (over PLN 140,000) from one of her clients for “summoning shamans to find the bones buried in seven different cemeteries and end the cause of his curse.”

According to the Italian station Rai News, a court in Busto Arsizio – a small town in the Lombardy region – ordered the precautionary seizure of the property of 67-year-old Franca Portadibasso in connection with her allegations of fraud and failure to file a tax return. About 900,000 were taken from her account. euro (over four million zlotys), i.e. the amount corresponding to the amount of taxes not paid by it. The police also seized real estate owned by it. Portadibasso allegedly defrauded dozens of people out of millions of euros.

According to Italian media, Franca Portadibasso lives in the town of Cassano Magnago in the province of Varese in Lombardy, but is known throughout the country for her social media activity (she had Facebook and YouTube profiles) and television appearances on La8 and La9 channels. She also ran several offices – in Lodi, Novara, Como and Bologna, and organized various events throughout the country.

According to investigators, “fairy Asia” deceived dozens of people through its activities. They managed to identify 50 clients, thanks to whose payments the woman was to earn more than two million euros, buy several houses, plots of land and cars. One of the deceived people was a woman suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, whom the “fairy” promised to heal in exchange for a generous payment. The victim was to admit that although the actions of the “fairy” did not bring results, she continued to make payments to her because she was afraid that she might harm her in some way.

The investigation against “Asia’s fairy” began after a man whose identity has not been disclosed came to her with serious family problems. Portadibasso was to foretell him a serious danger with “deadly consequences”. When she demanded 31,000 euros (over PLN 140,000) in exchange for “summoning shamans to find the bones buried in seven different cemeteries and put an end to the cause of his curse”, the man reported the matter to the police. According to the media, for her services, the woman took payments to cards registered under the names of her relatives and friends.
