Izera, a Polish electric car, may not be created. Tomasz Kędzierski, president of Electromobility Poland – a company that was supposed to produce the car – wants the Izer project to give way to the vision of a modern production and development hub. The goal is, among others, the production of a European car brand together with a global partner.

According to the President of EMP, the situation of the industry in Europe is significantly deteriorating. This is caused by strong competition from Chinese automotive companies and geopolitical changes. The difficult situation on the market is additionally compounded by the introduction by United States cars for cars, parts and components.

In the opinion of Tomasz Kędzierski for Poland as one of the key suppliers for car manufacturers, this can be a big challenge, but also a chance to strategically change the position on the international arena. This is conditioned by the location of new car production plants that will affect the development of competence in areas such as ICT, automation, engineering and innovation.

– Success countries are not limited to importing solutions, but actively participate in their creation, implementation and improvement. Economic growth based on technology requires long -term strategies in the field of education, research and development infrastructure and cooperation between the public and private sectors – said Tomasz Kędzierski, president of Electromobility Poland, quoted in the company's press release.

It presents a modified vision of a project in which Electromobility Poland together with a global partner will co -create the European brand of cars.

These cars will be produced at a modern factory in Jaworzno, the company's headquarters will be located in Poland. New projects, such as the Innovation Center, local supply chain and research and development units, creating a production and development hub are to be created around the investment.

– The holistic approach makes the project an effective tool of industrial policy – conducted by the state and is a proactive response to dynamic market changes – said Tomasz Kędzierski.

The project “He got stuck in agility”

In the opinion of President Kędzierski, the EMP undertaking in the new formula is part of the assumptions of the government investment strategy “650 billion+”, focused on the country's energy and technological transformation.

Thanks to the investment in Jaworzno, a local supply chain will be created, covering up to 80 percent. car components values. In addition, 20-30 thousand will be created in the region. jobs, of which approx. 1000 in the R&D area. The ability of Polish companies to be promoted in global value chains will also increase.

– The flagship project of the Polish electromobility – which Izera was undoubtedly – eventually stuck on an agility, at which it was introduced by delays caused by a lack of stable financing. According to previous assumptions, funds from KPO enabling the implementation of the project were to be sent to the company at the beginning of 2023. The lack of their launch by the end of 2023 resulted in a break of design continuity and the need to update almost all assumptions – said Kędzierski.

The new EMP concept assumes the responsibility of a strategic partner. Instead of developing a car brand from scratch, EMP will act as a co -investor and coordinator of joint ventures. This is to minimize market risk.

Currently, talks are taking place with the potential EMP partners who could participate in the project.
