Piwnica pod Baranami announced the death of Jacek Zieliński on Monday before 7 p.m. The cause of death was not provided.
Co-founder of the band Skaldowie
Jacek Zieliński was born on September 6, 1946 in Kraków. He was a Polish composer, trumpeter, violinist and member of the band Skaldowie, and privately – the younger brother of Andrzej Zieliński.
Together with his brother, they were co-founders of the legendary Polish music band Skaldowie. The group was founded in the capital of Lesser Poland in the 1960s.
Jacek Zieliński also performed as a soloist, among others. in 1967 at the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole, where he performed the song “Dzień niepodobny do Dzień”.
In June 2006, Jacek Zieliński was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis. In January 2014, he was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit for artistic achievements.
