In Kalisz, little ducklings fell into a well. After a report from a concerned resident, the animals were rescued by firefighters and city guards.

The portal Kalisz24.info.pl wrote about the action to save ducks from the rainwater canal at MÅ‚ynarska Street in Kalisz.

On Wednesday, April 24, around 3 p.m., the officer on duty of the Kalisz City Guard received a report from a young woman from Kalisz that there were small ducklings in one of the rain drains, at the entrance to the shopping center.

– One unit of the State Fire Service was dispatched to the site. After reaching the site, it turned out that the ducks were trapped in a storm sewage manhole – says junior trainee Jakub Pietrzak, press officer of the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Kalisz.

“Their restless mother kept an eye on the hatch and scared away passers-by by flapping her wings” – describes the portal Kalisz24.info.pl.

Firefighters and city guards, who were the first to arrive on site, used a net and a grabber to catch the mother duck and put it in a carrier.

Then one of the firefighters pulled the little ones out by going down to the manhole. As it turned out, six ducklings fell inside.

The entire duck family was taken to the vet. After being examined, they will be released in a safe place.
