A doctor from Myszków (Śląskie) Wojciech P. heard corruption allegations. The proceedings concern, among others, accepting property benefits in exchange for help in dealing with professional matters and issuing medical certificates without the required examinations.
Wojciech P. worked in one of the poviat hospitals in the Śląskie Voivodeship. In October and November 2022, he was to accept property benefits in exchange for help in dealing with matters related to his profession and his function.
Wojciech P. was also employed in one of the clinics, where he was to issue – in exchange for a financial benefit – medical certificates about the lack of health contraindications to drive vehicles without prior examination.

Nine charges for a doctor from Myszków
In connection with the suspicion of committing crimes, the prosecutor issued a decision on detention and forced bringing the suspect. On Monday (March 31), the police searched the apartment and vehicles belonging to the suspect. The officers found 40 ammunition, for which Wojciech P. did not have permission, medical documentation and cash in the amount of PLN 35,000, which they secured against future penalties. Medical records were also secured in two medical facilities in the Śląskie Voivodeship and witnesses were questioned.

“The prosecutor made a suspect in a total of nine allegations of corruption in connection with the performance of a public function, certifying untruth in documents, support and illegal possession of ammunition, to which Wojciech P. confessed and made extensive explanations. Each of the accused crimes is punishable by imprisonment to eight years” – said the police in Silesia.

The prosecutor's office submitted a request to the District Court in Częstochowa for the application of detention on remand for a period of 90 days. The court decided to apply preventive measures in the form of a property surety in the amount of PLN 200,000, police supervision, a ban on contacting and approaching witnesses and a ban on leaving the country.
