Prices In stores and we notice their changes every day. Experts from application PanParagon in the analysis sent to the portal Business Insider checked how the prices of the most popular food products changed in September in 2022-2024.
What are the food prices? It's getting more and more expensive, and coffee is breaking records
The report shows that among the food products basket, the price of ground coffee has increased the most over the last two years. In September 2022, we paid PLN 19.99 for a half-kilogram package. Now the same coffee costs PLN 29.99. That's 50 percent. more. The price has also gone up significantly water mineral, which increased in price by almost 34%. A 1.5-liter bottle cost PLN 1.86 in 2022 and now PLN 2.49. The price of semi-skimmed cottage cheese has also increased. Two years ago, its average price was PLN 17.26 per 250 grams. Now you have to pay about PLN 22 for it, i.e. 27.2 percent. more.
Not all products have increased in price so much. 500-gram wheat-rye bread cost PLN 4.34 in September 2022. In 2024, to pay for the same bread, you will have to take PLN 4.9 out of your pocket. This means a price increase of almost 13%. The price of butter has gone up slightly. Within two years, the price of a 200-gram package increased by only 0.8%. It is worth noting that in 2023 the price of butter dropped significantly from PLN 8.32 to PLN 6.49, and this year it increased again to PLN 8.39.

The experts' shopping basket included one product whose price decreased in 2022-2024. It's about sugar. In September 2022, a kilogram parcel cost on average PLN 6.03, in 2023 it was PLN 5.79, and in September this year the price dropped to PLN 4.48. This means that sugar was almost 26 percent lower. cheaper than two years ago.
What do the prices look like when we collect all the products mentioned? – In total, the price of the basket with products included in the study has increased by approximately 25% over the last two years.
