Monitoring was secured and the first witnesses were interviewed. The prosecutor's office is investigating a case of poisoning in a school near Warsaw. 41 people suffered there.
– The District Prosecutor's Office in Przasnysz is supervising the investigation into the exposure of students of the District School Complex in Przasnysz at Sadowa to direct danger of loss of life or serious damage to health on April 12, 2024, i.e. an act under Article 160 §1 of the Penal Code – Elżbieta told us Łukasiewicz, spokeswoman of the District Prosecutor's Office in Ostrołęka.
She added that the investigation was initiated on April 16, 2024.
Several hundred people were evacuated
Let us remind you, the incident took place on April 12 in the District School Complex. Major Henryk Sucharski at Sadowa Street in Przasnysz. Students complained of dizziness, stomach pain, and some vomited. 340 people were evacuated from the building, including 313 students, 25 teachers and two staff members. 16 fire brigade vehicles and a specialist chemical and ecological group from Ciechanów worked on site. Firefighters set up a tent that served as a medical point.
– In the course of the activities undertaken, it was determined that in the morning hours several students who had classes on the first floor felt unwell. Seven people were taken to the SPZOZ in Przasnysz to the Emergency Department with symptoms of poisoning, where they were given help, two people were transported to the hospital in Ciechanów – describes the spokeswoman.
– Due to the above, all people on the school premises were evacuated, a total of 340 people. The total number of people injured in the incident was 41. Firefighters took measurements for various substances that may be present at the school with negative results, he adds.
The prosecutor's office secured monitoring from cameras located on the school premises. Three teachers (including the school's deputy principal) and two janitors were questioned in the case. – In the course of further proceedings, the injured persons and other students, teachers and school employees will be questioned – announces the representative of the prosecutor's office.
