The deputy commander of the municipal police in Radom hit a pedestrian. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident occurred while the man was overtaking another vehicle on his way to work. He then hit a 37-year-old walking on the left side of the road.
The accident happened on Monday at 6.35 on a district road in Dąbrówka Zabłotnia in the Kowala commune. – A 48-year-old man driving a BMW was driving in the direction of Radom. While overtaking the vehicle, he hit a pedestrian walking on the left side of the road. A 37-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries was transported to a hospital in Radom, informs podinsp. Katarzyna Kucharska, spokeswoman for the Provincial Police Headquarters in Radom. He added that both the driver and the pedestrian were sober.
– The driver of the vehicle was the first deputy city police chief in Radom, who was on duty. Due to the fact that he is a police officer, the activities on the spot were carried out under the supervision of the prosecutor – the policewoman points out.
The Voivodship Headquarters also intends to carry out explanatory activities, irrespective of the set-off proceedings. Kucharska points out that the police seized the BMW registration card. However, they did not retain the driver’s license. – The driving license can be retained optionally, it is not obligatory. This was decided by the prosecutor at the scene.
