Students protesting in Serbia are demanding a detailed investigation of the mysterious bang, which led to a panic explosion during a demonstration in Belgrade in mid -March. Part of society and the media suggested the use of a sonic weapon.
“On March 15, 2025, during a peaceful protest, an unexplained event occurred, which caused fear and panic among citizens. Considering his seriousness and potential effects on safety, we demand a detailed investigation, as well as establishing all relevant circumstances” – said Serbian students in the communiqué.
In the instagram post of students participating in national blockades of academic faculties, it was written that during the protest on March 15 citizens were “attacked by unidentified technology, whose character authorities still did not specify”.

The loud sound, which led to a short -term panic among the crowd, caused in Serbia A discussion in which part of society and the media was suggested by the police to use a sonic weapon. The authorities turned to the FBI and FSB for help
For now, there is no official information about the causes of the incident. The authorities in Belgrade turned to the American FBI and Russian FSB for help in determining whether sonic weapons were used during the protest in Belgrade. Investigators of the FSB came to Belgrade on March 28.
Within a few days after the event, the Serbian government first assured that the police had no “sonic weapons”, and then admitted that the services had such devices, but “never used them”.
Mass protests in Serbia
Protests organized in Serbia are the answer to construction disaster at the railway station in Nowy Sad From the beginning of November, as a result of which 16 people were killed – the last victim died in the hospital in March. From December, the initiative in the organization of mass demonstrations was taken over by students who have also been occupying 60 faculties in all academic centers of the country for several months.
Students demand the disclosure of contracts related to the renovation of the station in a new orchard, punish guilty attacks on demonstrators, dismissed allegations of protests and increasing budget expenditure by higher education for higher education.
Serbia President Aleksandar Vuczić said on Friday that “the real goal of the protesters is to overthrow the government and a colorful revolution according to commands from abroad.”
