On June 9, the next elections will be held in Poland – this time to the European Parliament. Politicians who successfully ran for the Sejm and Senate in October, and today want to change their seats, stand out at the top of the lists.
Former ministers, heroes of scandals, Jarosław Kurski, Daniel Obajtek – Jarosław Kaczyński wants to rely on them, among others, in the European Parliament elections. Donald Tusk's response to PiS candidates is to be members of parliament – including the heads of investigative committees – who have been involved in controlling PiS's power and detecting cases and scandals involving them in recent years.
– I am a working politician and the captain tells me what my role is (…). I am ready for another job – emphasizes Michał Szczerba, MP from the Civic Platform. – On the other hand, we want to field honest (candidates – editor's note) – Dariusz Joński, an MP from this formation, reveals the electoral plans of the Civic Coalition.
Meetings at the PiS headquarters
– Mr. Kurski used to be an MEP, so he has parliamentary experience. As for Messrs. Kamiński and Wąsik, they would do well in the LIBE committee. This commission, which is identical to the function they performed in the government, says Jadwiga Wiśniewska, PiS MEP.
For several days now, political meetings have been held at the PiS headquarters with the participation of the party's most important politicians and candidates who – like Beata Szydło or Adam Bielan – have certain places on the list. Jadwiga Wiśniewska is also a certainty, followed by Patryk Jaki on the Silesian list. – There will be a mix of experience there. People who have extensive experience working in the European Parliament, know languages, know EU procedures, with some element of new blood – explains Adam Bielan, PiS MEP.

– That's why it's so important who goes to the European Parliament. Will we give Polish votes to Messrs. Kamiński and Wąsik, or perhaps a team that wants cooperation and compromise will go, argues Bartosz Arłukowicz from PO.
In the afternoon, MPs from the Civic Coalition went to the club's away meeting, where Donald Tusk is to outline the strategy for the European campaign. Jarosław Kaczyński called a club meeting on the same matter for Wednesday evening. For Tusk and Kaczyński on June 9, there will be one goal – to win more votes than the second largest party. Turnout will be decisive in this matter.
