The first session of the new Warsaw Council and the swearing-in of the president of the capital will take place on Tuesday, May 7, at 2:30 p.m. in the Palace of Culture and Science, in the Warsaw Hall on the 4th floor, the electoral commissioner said in a statement.

“The first session of the newly elected Council of the Capital City of Warsaw for the 2024-2029 term is convened in order for the councilors and the newly elected President of the Capital City of Warsaw to take an oath,” the statement read.

The session will take place on May 7, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. in the Palace of Culture and Science in the Warsaw Hall (4th floor).

The Warsaw Council consists of 60 councilors elected every five years in local elections. In this year's elections, the Electoral Coalition won 37 seats, Law and Justice 15 seats, and the Left and urban movements eight seats.

In the elections for the mayor of Warsaw, the president running for re-election won in the first round Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski (KO), who won 57.41 percent. votes.
