I think you have to be very careful and prudent about these things,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, when asked about the introduction of artificial intelligence solutions such as ChatGPT into the company’s products. ‘There are many problems that need to be solved, but the potential is certainly very interesting,’ he said.

During the company’s earnings call on Thursday, Tim Cook was asked by a journalist if Apple plans to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, such as ChatGPT, to its products. After all, Google and Microsoft are already working on such solutions.

“I think you have to be very careful and prudent about these things,” replied Tim Cook. “There are many problems that need to be solved … in many different places, but the potential is certainly very interesting,” said the Apple CEO.

Cook then pointed out how the company uses AI and machine learning in its products. He recalled the fall detection function in his smartwatches and said that Apple will continue to introduce new solutions to more of its products, but in a “very thoughtful way”.

As Mashable points out, however, Cook did not directly address the topic of generative artificial intelligence, i.e. the technology behind OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Generative artificial intelligence to create new content based on existing data.

The website notes that although Apple has a powerful platform to implement solutions such as the Siri assistant, the company is in no hurry to integrate an artificial intelligence model of this type into its products. Instead, it applies it to very specific functions.
