Georgia has so far not provided military assistance to Ukraine. Kyiv also asked the Georgian authorities to hand over the Javelin anti-tank systems that Georgia had received from the United States. According to Kasyanov, Washington agreed to such a solution and even proposed replacing the systems with newer ones.

“Although the Georgian government has categorically refused to provide military assistance to Ukraine, Kyiv opposes the use of this issue in internal political disputes and rejects any accusations of trying to draw Georgia into a war with the Russian Federation,” added the diplomat.

Statement by the authorities in Tbilisi

In late December, Georgia’s Iraklia Prime Minister Garibashvili said that Tbilisi’s official actions to support Ukraine were “sufficient”.

Earlier, Georgia provided Ukraine with over half a million dollars for the purchase of electricity generators, as well as over 1,120 tons of humanitarian aid, collected with the participation of, among others, social organizations, political parties and entrepreneurs.
