During two long weekends starting from April 25, when the new regulations came into force, a massive influx of tourists was recorded. The requirement to register your visit and fee will also apply on Sunday, and then on May 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26, May 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30 and June 6, 7, 13 and 14 July.

Several thousand people are checked every day. You must show a QR code confirming registration, payment or exemption. 75 controllers are on duty at 16 points in Venice, including the railway station and the parking lot at Piazzale Roma.

Penalties for failure to pay the required fee range from EUR 50 to EUR 300.
