Firefighters intervened in a fire in a building at Sowińskiego Street. There were two dogs in the smoke-filled apartment. One was saved.

The incident was announced on Saturday on social media by the Firefighting Rescue Unit No. 7 from Warsaw.

“Yesterday’s service was no less intense than the previous one and we also recorded 11 interventions in our operational area. The most serious operation was a fire in an apartment on Sowińskiego Street. During the operations, firefighters managed to find a dog in the smoke, which was handed over to the owner after the evacuation,” we read in firefighters entry.

Bogdan Smoter from the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Warsaw told us more about the firefighters’ action.

– We received a report of a fire in an apartment at Sowińskiego Street on Friday, a few minutes before 12 p.m. Our actions consisted of securing the scene and administering two water streams. The source of the fire was in the bedroom, the firefighter said.

He added that there were two dogs in the smoke-filled apartment. – One of them could not be saved. The second one was handed over to the owner, Smoter explained. There were no injuries in the incident.
