A child died in a collision of four cars on the S8 route near Mszczonów. Six people were transported to hospital, and rescue operations are ongoing. The road towards Warsaw is blocked. Rescue helicopters were unable to land at the accident site due to poor weather conditions.
The incident occurred before 7 p.m. on the S8 route, near the town of Wymysłów. – The first information shows that the driver driving towards Katowice lost control of the steering wheel, destroyed the barriers, drove into the opposite lane and collided with vehicles moving towards the capital – Artur Węgrzynowicz from tvnwarszawa.pl found out.
– Two air ambulance helicopters were called to the site, but they were unable to land due to bad weather conditions – he said.
A child died, six people were injured
The information was confirmed by Patrycja Sochacka from the police in Żyrardów. – Four passenger cars collided. The child was resuscitated, but unfortunately he could not be saved. Six people are in hospital, she said. – We are explaining the circumstances of the incident – she added.
The child was about 10 years old.
Firefighters arrived at the scene. St. captain Jarosław Belina from the fire brigade in Żyrardów said that a child was also among the injured. – The road towards Warsaw is blocked. Difficulties may last for a few more hours, said a firefighter after 8 p.m.
Drivers traveling towards Katowice must also slow down, where one lane is impassable.
