79th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. Five special bus lines and historic trams

On Tuesday, August 1, the main celebrations related to the 79th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising will take place in Warsaw. On that day, historic trams and buses of special lines will leave, taking you to the military cemetery in Powązki, informed the Public Transport Authority.

From 2 pm to 8 pm, historic trams will serve the W line, which will go from Plac Narutowicza to the Wolski Cemetery.

There will also be buses of five special lines that will connect the military cemetery in Powązki with various parts of Warsaw. Line 912 (one-way route) with the Wolski Cemetery, 922 with the Marymont metro station, 944 with the Central Railway Station, 970 with the Eastern Railway Station and 980 will take passengers to the center to the Foksal terminus.

“Buses of line 912 will run from 17.30 to 20.00, and the other lines from 14.30 to 21.00” – informed ZTM.

Normal ZTM fare applies on buses 912, 922, 944, 970, 980 and tram W.

In the historic carriages of the W line, passengers will meet conductors from the Club of Public Transport Enthusiasts. Their role will be to operate the wagon and help with the validation of single tickets. Short-term and long-term tickets encoded on the Warsaw City Card must be validated in advance in another vehicle or metro gate.
