Who is Agnieszka Buczyńska?

Agnieszka Buczyńska, born in 1986, comes from Tczew. He has a background in sociology and political science. Already during her student days, she became involved with non-governmental organizations. In the years 2008-2014, she served as vice-president, and from 2015 to 2019, president of the Volunteer Center in Gdańsk. She was behind the idea of ​​submitting Gdańsk’s application for the title of European Volunteering Capital, which the city received in 2022.

She was a co-organizer of the finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity in 2019, during which Paweł Adamowicz was murdered. She was standing on stage next to the president of Gdańsk when a knifeman attacked him. She was one of the people charged in connection with this case – this year she was acquitted by the court. After Adamowicz’s death, she got involved in the campaign Aleksandra Dulkiewicz in early deadlines elections for president of the city.

From the beginning in Poland 2050

As we read on the Poland 2050 website, Buczyńska has been a member of the movement from the beginning of its activity. She was part of the staff in the last presidential elections Szymon Hołownia. She was responsible for coordinating volunteering. She is vice-president of the Polska 2050 association, as well as a member of the board of the Polska 2050 party. She serves as its second vice-chairman and secretary general.

In this year’s elections, she ran from the first place on the Third Road coalition list in the Gdańsk district. She obtained over 35 thousand votes and got into the Sejm. She became deputy chairman of the European Union Affairs Committee and a member of the Senior Policy Committee. She emphasizes that as an MP “I want to give a voice to non-governmental organizations.”

“I have been professionally dealing with civil society issues for years. My passion is volunteering and working with people. I manage to combine it with my professional work and everyday life. I love running and spending time with people. This is what drives me. I have been involved in building projects all my life volunteering. This is a key part of civil society. It energizes me, makes me happy, gives me energy to act” – this is what Buczyńska writes about herself on the movement’s website.

The MP lives in Gdańsk. Her husband is Paweł Buczyński, president of the operator of the Gdańsk stadium, Polsat Plus Arena. He has two daughters with him.
