Three Poles died in a car accident in Lichtervelde in the north of Belgium. According to the local media, the 33-year-old Maserati sports car driver lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into a tree.
The tragedy happened on Saturday around 21.40 in Lichtervelde. According to media reports, the white Maserati left the road for unclear reasons, hit an island and then landed in a tree. The force of the impact was so great that the car broke in half, and one of the passengers landed 30 meters from the vehicle, reports the daily “Het Laatste Nieuws”. He adds that three men of Polish nationality, aged 33, 28 and 22, died on the spot. According to the prosecutor who arrived at the scene of the tragedy, the cause of the accident was “clearly excessive speed”, reports “HLN”.
