King Charles III of Great Britain, after the end of the coronation weekend, expressed “the most sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making it such a special occasion”. He also wrote about what for him and Queen Camilla is “the greatest possible coronation gift.”
The coronation ceremony took place on Saturday King Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla.
On Monday, the monarch issued a statement thanking him for the entirety of the ceremony.
“As Coronation Weekend draws to a close, my wife and I wanted to pass on our sincerest and heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this such a special occasion,” he wrote.
He added that special appreciation goes to the countless people who have given their time and dedication to making the celebrations in London, Windsor and elsewhere as “joyful, safe and enjoyable”. He thanked everyone who joined the joint celebrations at street parties and through volunteer activities.

“Knowing that we have your support and encouragement, and to witness your kindness expressed in so many different ways, has been the greatest Coronation gift possible as we now rededicate our lives to the service of the people of the United Kingdom, Kingdoms and Commonwealth,” assured Charles III.
In parallel, four official portraits taken at Buckingham Palace after Saturday’s coronation were published. They show the king wearing the coronation mantle and the imperial state crown, sitting on a throne and holding the royal orb and a scepter in his hands; Queen Camilla in a coronation cloak and the crown of Queen Mary, standing in one of the chambers of the palace; the royal couple standing together in the throne room and the royal couple with the other 10 people who perform the duties of members royal family.
The author of the portraits is the British photographer Hugo Burnand, who has been taking pictures of members of the royal family for over 20 years. Among other things, he was the photographer at the wedding of Charles – when he was heir to the throne – to Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005.
