A tow truck worker was hit by a truck while changing a tire on a van. The accident occurred on the emergency lane of the S52 expressway near Krakow. The man was hospitalized.
A dangerous event took place on Thursday around 10 am on the S52 expressway between Modlniczka and Balice junctions – at the height of Szczyglice near Krakow. The man in the emergency lane was hit by a truck.
Roadside assistance worker at the hospital
As the junior captain Hubert Ciepły, spokesman for the Małopolska fire brigade, informed us, two fire brigades, an ambulance and the police arrived at the scene.

– The victim is a roadside assistance worker who was changing a wheel in a delivery van parked in the emergency lane at the time of the accident. Suddenly, a moving truck hit him. The man suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital, Ciepły told us.
Deputy Commissioner Barbara Szczerba from the press team of the Lesser Poland Police informed us that the truck driver was sober. – The driver did not exercise due care and hit a roadside assistance worker. His driving license was suspended. The case is being investigated by the District Police Headquarters in Kraków, she added.
