Friday's agreement, concluded in Havana, also provides that after a break of over 10 years Moscow and Havana will resume cooperation between their military prosecutor's offices.

As the president announced in a statement Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel, agreement with Russia was concluded on the occasion of the visit of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Igor Krasnov, which has been ongoing since Monday.

On the part of the Cuban authorities, the cooperation document was signed by the country's prosecutor general, Yamila Pena.

In February this year, the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov during his visit to Havana he called Cuba “Russia's most important ally in Latin America and in the Caribbean” and expressed satisfaction with the increasingly intense dialogue between the two countries “at all levels.”

In March, the Cuban government announced that it had reached an agreement with Russia on the country's increased investment in the Caribbean island.

Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas announced then that received assurance from the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko about Moscow's imminent launch of another credit line for Cuba “to stabilize supplies of crude oil, petrochemical products, grain and fertilizers.”

On the occasion of Cabrisas' visit to the Kremlin, the regime in Havana announced that since January 2023, Russians have opened about 100 companies in Cuba. They were created mainly in the energy sector, heavy industry, banking, IT, agriculture and tourism.
