MP Izabela Leszczyna and senator Jan Maria Jackowski discussed in “Fakty po Faktach” the debate expected by society between the leaders of the two largest parties – Jarosław Kaczyński and Donald Tusk. On Thursday, the PiS leader refused to allow Tusk to debate. – Jarosław Kaczyński’s answer shows that he is terrified of Donald Tusk – said Leszczyna. – The society feels that it is dealing with a one-sided message, I am talking about government television, and would like a live confrontation – added Jackowski.

Grzegorz Kajdanowicz’s guests in Thursday’s edition of “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 were MP Izabela Leszczyna of the Civic Coalition and non-affiliated senator Jan Maria Jackowski, who talked about the Donald Tusk-Jarosław Kaczyński debate expected by society.

Tusk in Rzeszów confirmed that he would appear on Monday at a debate on government television. Kaczyński, in Kazimierz Wielka, announced that he was going to Przysucha that day.

Leszczyna: it means that Donald Tusk respects all people

According to Leszczyna, Kaczyński’s decision “shows two things.” – First of all, Donald Tusk is not afraid Jarosław Kaczyńskiis not afraid of public television, is not afraid of PiS, but Jarosław Kaczyński’s answer shows that Jarosław Kaczyński is terrified of Donald Tusk – she said.

The program recalled the results survey telephone call, made by Kantar for “Fakty” TVN and TVN24, which read:

The largest media in Poland proposed a joint pre-election debate to Donald Tusk and Jarosław Kaczyński. Donald Tusk agreed to it, Jarosław Kaczyński refused. How do you evaluate this decision of the PiS president?

64 percent of respondents assessed the decision of the PiS president negatively. 23 percent of respondents rated it as good. The answer “difficult to say” was chosen by 13 percent of respondents.
The survey was conducted between October 2 and 4 on a nationwide, representative sample of 1,500 people over 18 years of age.

– The overwhelming majority of Poles expect a debate between the leaders of the two largest political parties – commented Leszczyna. – This means that Prime Minister Donald Tusk respects all people, respects voters not only of the Civic Coalition or the broader democratic opposition, and respects PiS voters, i.e. those who only watch public television, because it is not friendly television for us. And this is a euphemism, she said.

Jackowski: the possibility of Tusk speaking live may turn out to be very inconvenient for the ruling camp

– Of course, the public feels that it is dealing with a certain one-sided message, I am talking about government television, and would like a live confrontation, for its own curiosity, to see how the arguments presented on public television, these propaganda theses, the message formatted in this way, the accused himself, i.e. Donald Tusk, is responsible – Jackowski added.

In his opinion, “from a sociotechnical point of view, (Tusk’s) decision is well-thought-out.” – Because, sociotechnically speaking, he cannot lose from this debate – he argued, describing that Tusk is “painted in black colors on Polish Television anyway.”

– However, the possibility of speaking live may turn out to be very inconvenient for the ruling camp, which has so far not allowed (Tusk to speak – ed.) that he has never spoken live – he continued.

The senator then asked “who will the ruling camp choose for this debate?” – From the point of view of political logic, it would seem that it should be Mateusz Morawiecki. But in light of the fact that he advised Donald Tusk as a member of his Economic Council, and from the point of view that he said in 2010 that the retirement age should be increased and equalized, it would be a very interesting discussion – he predicted.

“The ruling party is afraid of confrontation with the opposition”

Leszczyna said that v elections “We have a really big decision to make.” – Millions of Poles hesitate and want to form an opinion, and the ruling party, which claims that Poland is a land flowing with honey and milk, is afraid of confrontation with the opposition – she concluded. – The king is naked, really – she pointed out.

According to Leszczyna, voters “if they only see these acts and only propaganda messages in closed rooms (…), they will finally think that something is wrong.” – Something is creaking, reality is really creaking – said the MP.
