In two days, the Sejm will consider the law on the Supreme Court and other courts, which is to enable the payment of funds to Poland under the National Reconstruction Plan. How will MPs decide? This was discussed in the “Fakty po Faktach” studio by Cezary Tomczyk (KO) and Krzysztof Gawkowski (Left). – This law may be changed many times in the Sejm – warned Tomczyk. – No matter what they do, the money will be in five months at the earliest. And this is the mortal sin of this power camp, because they have committed economic treason, added Gawkowski.
On January 11, a three-day sitting of the Sejm will begin. On the agenda is, among others, the first reading of the parliamentary bill amending the law on the Supreme Court and other courts. There is a dispute within the ruling coalition over this issue. He does not agree to the changes Solidarity Poland, the party of Zbigniew Ziobro. According to the authors, the act is to fulfill the key “milestone” for the European Commission to unblock funds from KPO.
The guests of “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 were asked about the possible fate of the bill in the Sejm – a member of the Civic Coalition Cezary Tomczyk and the head of the Left club, Krzysztof Gawkowski.
Tomczyk: There is a big mess on the side of PiS in this matter
– We know for sure that on the side PiS there is one big mess in this matter, because there everyone is pulling in his own direction. This conflict seems very difficult to resolve. On the one hand there is Kaczyński and Morawiecki, on the other there is Ziobro. There are many pages, there are also elements such as former Prime Minister (Beata) Szydło, who criticizes Prime Minister Morawiecki very strongly, so you can see that it is not good – commented Tomczyk.
– What can happen with this law? We have seen many times that sometimes a horse came to the Sejm in the form of a bill, and a donkey came out, which means that this bill can be changed many times in the Sejm – he said.
Tomczyk said that his party would support “only a law that would be good”, that is, “they would not enter into any negotiations with PiS”.
Gawkowski: this is the mortal sin of the power camp
Gawkowski, in turn, said that the opposition presents different positions in relation to the project submitted by PiS, but they agree on one issue. – With this bill, we will not prevent the law giving money from the European Union from being adopted. But wise law, good law, he declared. He explained that by this he meant submitting amendments to the bill.
– If we go the presidential route (presidential project – ed.), there will be no money from the Reconstruction Fund. If they do not want the opposition’s amendments, they will themselves prevent the money from being there. And finally, Ziobro, Kaczyński and Morawiecki did not agree on the act, they submitted the act, they made a huge mess and because of them we still do not have money from the European Union – he summed up.
