In Podlasie, the best result – almost 80,000 votes – was won by Szymon Hołownia from Białystok. However, in the “duel of the ones” from the KO and PiS lists, Krzysztof Truskolaski lost to Jacek Sasin. However, the result of the Podlasie New Left is a negative surprise.

According to the National Electoral Commission data from all electoral districts, in Podlasie PiS won 42.39 percent, Civic Coalition – 20.84 percent, Trzecia Droga – 18.86 percent, Konfederacja – 9.79 percent, and Nowa Lewica – 4, 84 percent votes.

The best result was achieved by the person starting from the first place on the Third Route list, Szymon Hołownia. 79,951 people voted for him.

With this result, Hołownia outclassed other candidates. In second place was the “paratrooper” from Warsaw, the Minister of State Assets, who started from the first place on the PiS list. Jacek Sasin. He won 59,490 votes, defeating in the “duel of ones” Krzysztof Truskolaski – the head of the Podlaskie PO structures and the son of the president of Białystok – supported by 57,664 people.

The deputy minister of digitization, running from the PiS list, also achieved a good result Adam Andruszkiewicz, for which 53,632 people voted. The top five candidates with the best results are rounded off by a parachutist Krzysztof Bosak, one of the leaders of the Confederation and a candidate for the President of the Republic of Poland in the last elections. He won 44,902 votes.

Piontkowski with almost three times less support

When reviewing the results of individual candidates, it is worth paying attention to the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Dariusz Piontkowskiwho – starting four years ago as one of the PiS lists, had the best result in the voivodeship (63,878 votes) – and now was in sixth place and won only 22,147 votes.

The likely division of seats in the next Sejm shows that Piontkowski will continue to be an MP. Unlike, for example, Mieczysław Baszka, former president of the Podlaskie PSL structures, who successfully ran from the PiS list four years ago.

We will probably not see the long-time PO MP and former head of the party’s structures in the Podlasie region at Wiejska Street Robert Tyszkiewicz, who, starting from third place, won 5,873 votes. A long-time MP – founder and editor-in-chief of the monthly “Przegląd Prawasławny” – will also not be allowed to enter the Sejm. Eugeniusz Czykwinwho, starting from seventh place on the KO list, won 8,332 votes.

Good result for Sebastian Łukaszewicz

We should see among the debutants at Wiejska Street Sebastian Łukaszewicz from Sovereign Poland, deputy marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, who started from the last place on the PiS list and won 11,554 votes. Łukaszewicz “became famous” in 2019 for blocking the first equality march in Białystok, and most recently with a protest in one of Białystok’s cinemas against Agnieszka Holland’s film “The Green Border”.

However, the result of the New Left is a surprise. Although the MP starting from the first place on this list Paweł Krutul he got 11,063 (which made him overtake, for example, the head of the Podlasie structures of the People’s Party, who started from Third Way, Stefan Krajewski, who won 9,803 votes and will probably keep his seat) is unlikely to get into the Sejm. This means that the Podlasie left will again (as in 2015-2019) not have a representative on Wiejska Street.

Turnout in the Podlaskie Voivodeship was high. It reached 70.30 percent.
