Sean Dawkins, a beloved College of California, Berkeley alum who performed for 9 seasons within the NFL, has died, a Cal Athletics spokesperson confirmed to E! Information. He was 52.

Dawkins’ reason behind dying was resulting from cardiac arrest, in keeping with a Cal Athletics news release.

The broad receiver started his skilled profession in 1993 when he was chosen by the Indianapolis Colts within the first spherical of the NFL draft. Two years later, he helped take the workforce to the AFC Championship sport, the place the Colts finally misplaced to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After leaving the Colts in 1997, Dawkins had stints on the New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings earlier than retiring from soccer in 2002.
