The man fell from the silo from a height of about eight meters onto the concrete. The accident occurred during economic work on a poultry farm. The victim with numerous fractures of the upper and lower limbs and a pelvic injury was transported by helicopter to the hospital.

The incident took place on Tuesday after 12 noon in the town of Kuśnierz, in the Mogilno poviat (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship). “At 12.17 the duty officer received a report about a man’s fall from a height in the village of Kuśnierz. The man was suspected of breaking his limbs” – said the Poviat Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Mogilno in a press release.

Two fire engines were dispatched to the operation. As firefighters reported, after arriving at the scene, they found a conscious man who had fallen from a silo from a height of about eight meters.

“Firefighters secured the scene and proceeded to provide qualified first aid to the victim until the arrival of the medical rescue team. The injured person was diagnosed with a pelvic injury and numerous fractures of the upper and lower limbs,” the release reads.

The injured was transported by a helicopter of the Polish Medical Air Rescue to a hospital in Bydgoszcz. Police officers were also at the scene. – A 55-year-old employee of a poultry farm fell from a height onto a concrete floor slab during farm work involving cleaning a grain silo. The man at the silo was alone. The place of the incident was not covered by the company’s monitoring – said Tomasz Bartecki, the press officer of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Mogilno.
