The body of a woman was found near Hajnówka (Podlaskie Voivodeship). “The body is believed to be that of a 28-year-old Ethiopian woman,” the prosecutor’s office said. Investigators are investigating the circumstances of her death.
Spokesman for the Podlasie police, Tomasz Krupa, informed the police on Sunday about 11 a.m. The corpse was found in the forest near Hajnówka. He added that the police – together with the reporting person – checked the area where the body was found. – At the moment, procedural activities are underway on the spot, and police officers, under the supervision of the prosecutor, are collecting evidence and establishing all circumstances, as well as the identity of this person – Krupa said before 2 p.m.
Prosecutor’s office: probably a woman from Ethiopia
– On the spot it was established that the corpse probably belongs to a woman from Ethiopia, aged 28 – said Jan Andrejczuk from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Hajnówka on Sunday afternoon. However, he added that the woman did not have any documents with her. – There were no bodily injuries on the body of the deceased that would indicate the cause of death. The condition of the corpse indicated that they had been in the forest for a relatively short time, Andrejczuk said.

By decision of the prosecutor, the woman’s body was transported to the Department of Forensic Medicine of the Medical University of Bialystok, where an autopsy will be carried out, which should show the direct cause of death. According to the prosecutor, an investigation will be initiated in the case.
