A 71-year-old man who was hit by a truck driver at a pedestrian crossing in Chełm (Lublin Voivodeship) has died. The man died in hospital as a result of his injuries. The 31-year-old driver was sober at the time of the accident.
This tragic accident occurred on Thursday (March 28) morning at a pedestrian crossing near the intersection of Chemiczna and Okszowska streets in Chełm.
“The policemen sent to the scene initially determined that the driver of the Man truck, a 31-year-old from the Chełm commune, hit a 71-year-old man from Chełm at a pedestrian crossing. The pedestrian with bodily injuries was taken to hospital, where, despite medical assistance, he died. The driver was sober,” she said. Chełm police in a statement.

The exact circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
