IMGW has issued weather warnings. There will be strong gusts of wind in parts of the country in the afternoon. The beginning of next week may also be dangerous, when meteorological alerts are expected to be issued throughout Poland.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued meteorological warnings and a threat forecast.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – strong wind

IMGW yellow alerts against strong winds have been issued for the province Pomeranianfor the counties: Słupsk, Lębork, Wejherowo and Puck.

In the coastal zone, gusts of strong, western wind are forecast with an average speed of 30 to 45 kilometers per hour, with gusts up to 75 km/h. Alerts will go into effect on Friday at 14:00 and expire on the same day at 14:00. 20.

Forecast of IMGW meteorological threats for Friday

On Friday, IMGW forecasters may issue further first degree warnings against strong winds. During the day, alerts may be in effect in the province Pomeranian (in the counties: Słupsk, Lębork, Wejherowo and Puck) and Lower Silesia (in the districts: Lwówek, Karkonosze, Jelenia Gora and Kamienna Góra).

Forecast of meteorological threats of IMGW for Monday

Although IMGW does not plan to issue meteorological alerts on Saturday and Sunday, the dangerous aura may return on Monday. Frost warnings may go into effect throughout the country.

Forecasters predict that the roads may be dangerously slippery in places. Level I ice alerts may apply in the following provinces: Subcarpathian, Świętokrzyskie, Lesser Poland and Silesian.

Snow is also expected at the beginning of the week. Yellow alerts against them may be issued in the following provinces: Subcarpathian (in the counties: Bieszczady, Lesko, Sanok, Brzozów, Krosno, loom and Jasło), Lesser Poland (in the districts: Gorlicki, Nowy Sącz, Nowy SaczLimanowski, Nowy Targ, Tatrzański and Suski) and Silesian (in the counties: Żywiec, Bielski, Bielsko-Biala and Cieszyn).

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution recommended, the need to follow messages and weather developments.
