A representative of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, quoted by AFP, said that “one person was killed and eight were injured.” CNN reports that Israel did not carry out any attacks. US Central Command also said it had nothing to do with the explosion.
A strong explosion shook around midnight on Friday a military base located south of the capital of Iraq – Baghdad, where soldiers of the so-called Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and former members of pro-Iranian paramilitary groups, the Iraqi security services reported.
According to these services, the explosion was the result of an “air attack”, but it has not yet been determined who committed it. The explosion did not cause any casualties, only material losses – it was added.

Kaiso base targeted for attack
PMF members reported that the target of the attack was the headquarters of their forces at the Kaiso base, near the city of Iskandariya, approximately 50 km south of Baghdad.
The PMF group initially brought together various factions of the Iraqi armed forces, including pro-Iranian ones. It was later recognized by the Iraqi government as part of the armed forces.
Positions of Israel and the USA
According to CNN, citing an Israeli official, Tel Aviv has no connection with the explosions in Iraq.
US Central Command also stated that the United States did not carry out any attacks in Iraq. The joint joint task force that commands Operation Inherent Resolve, the multinational mission to defeat the so-called Islamic State, also said the U.S.-led coalition had not carried out any attacks in Iraq.
