One person was burned as a result of a gas explosion that occurred on Sunday morning in one of the apartment blocks in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. Even before the firefighters arrived, about 20 people evacuated from the building.
Report of a gas explosion in a high-rise multi-family building at ul. Marusarzówna in Jastrzębie-Zdrój (Silesian Voivodeship) was received by the services on Sunday at 7.25. In the building, windows and doors of apartments around the premises where the explosion occurred were damaged – There was no firefighting. Even before the arrival of firefighters, about 20 people evacuated from the building. Firefighters helped a burnt man from the apartment where the explosion occurred. He was in good general condition and was transported to the hospital by the Provincial Emergency Service in Katowice, said Szymon Klimczak from the municipal headquarters of the State Fire Service in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.

Seven teams of firefighters were dispatched to the operation, including the State Fire Service and the Ruptawa and Jastrzębie Górne Volunteer Fire Brigades. This weekend is not the first gas-related incident in the region. On Saturday after 14. in a tenement house at ul. Chopina in Gliwice, there was a fire in a gas stove in an apartment on the second floor. One person was also injured there. Six people were evacuated. The activities were completed after a few hours.
