Police officers received a report that gas leaks in one of the apartments in Jastrzębie-Zdrój (Silesian Voivodeship). There was supposed to be a man inside, but he didn’t answer the call. It was necessary to force the door open.

A police patrol and a fire truck were sent to the building, which smelled of gas. According to the reporting person, an elderly man was in the apartment.

“The uniforms confirmed the report, also determining that a 71-year-old man lives at the address, who does not open the door. Police officers and firefighters, due to the immediate threat to life and health, immediately decided to break the door to the apartment” – says the Jastrzębie police.

When officers entered the apartment, they found a 71-year-old man lying on the floor. “Contact with him was difficult, and she was stunned. The uniforms carried the victim outside, where they provided him with first aid. Then they handed him over to the Medical Rescue Team, which, after an initial examination, determined that the Jastrzębie citizen had an epilepsy attack. The man was taken to the hospital” police report.

It turned out that the gas was leaking from the unscrewed stove burner. According to the police, the man had a seizure while turning on the device.
