A detention hearing in the case of Father Michał O. will be held on Thursday – attorney Krzysztof Wąsowski, attorney-in-fact of the president of the Profeto Church Foundation, informed tvn24.pl.

On Wednesday, Father Michał O. heard prosecutor's charges in connection with the Justice Fund scandal. The content of the allegations includes, among others: exceeding powers, certifying untruths, causing property damage.

– Acting jointly and in consultation with officials (who heard the charges in this case – ed.), he led to the payment of funds (…) de facto obtained the funds without intending to implement this (project – ed.) in the way he presented it – said Przemysław Nowak, spokesman for the National Prosecutor's Office.

He added that Michał O.'s cooperation was aimed at creating an application for the payment of funds from the Justice Fund that – at least on paper – would meet all the requirements and standards.

The suspect is the president of the church's Profeto Foundation, which was to receive a record subsidy from Zbigniew Ziobro's ministry, amounting to nearly PLN 100 million, for the Archipelag center. The facility being established in Warsaw is intended to help crime victims. The circumstances of the grant were described on tvn24.pl in February by Sebastian Klauziński and Maria Pankowska (OKO.press) in the material “Missing millions. Neither the priest nor the order will admit it. So who are these transfers for?”. Last week's material also talks about the priest and the subsidy issue “Millions for a Benefactor” broadcast in “Black and White” on TVN24.
