The bodies of a woman and her three-year-old son who had been wanted for several days were found near Różowa Góra near Śnieżka in the Czech Karkonosze Mountains. The cause of their deaths is being investigated by the police. Specially trained dogs and a helicopter participated in the search.

The police and mountain rescuers announced the end of the search operation, in which about 150 people participated on Monday. Czech mountain rescuers, policemen and guards of the Karkonosze National Park were helped by Polish mountain rescuers with a dog and drones. The weather allowed the use of the helicopter.

The search lasted several days

Before noon, the police published photos from the monitoring at the intermediate station of the cable car to Śnieżka. The camera captured a woman and a boy with a sled. The photo made it possible to limit the search area, which rescuers systematically combed with a tirailleur from Monday morning.

A woman living with her family on the outskirts of Prague went with her son to the Czech ski resort of Pec pod Sněžkou for a Christmas break. On December 27, the owner of the guesthouse became concerned about a locked room and a car parked in front of the building. The woman was supposed to stay in the mountains until December 30. A search was launched on Friday after the woman’s partner formally reported her missing.
