Police officers found five items resembling weapons and ammunition in one of the apartments in the center of Kielce. The officers were called to a domestic dispute. A drunk 68-year-old man opened the door for them. If it is confirmed that the items found are weapons, the man will face trial for illegal possession.

Kielce police officers were called on Wednesday morning to one of the apartments in the city center, where – according to the report – a brawl was to take place. The door was opened by a man from whom the officers immediately detected a strong odor of alcohol. It turned out, however, that a fight and alcohol were the least of the Kielce inhabitants’ worries.

On the 68-year-old, police found an object resembling a gun. However, this was not the only find in the man’s apartment.

– In the course of their activities, uniformed officers found five items resembling weapons in various places in the premises. In addition, the police also revealed ammunition. The 68-year-old has been detained, informed the junior aspirant Małgorzata Perkowska-Kiepas, press officer of the police in Kielce.

A sobriety test showed that the man had more than two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

The found items were secured for further examination. – If it turns out that they bear the characteristics of a weapon for which a permit is required, the Kielce resident will answer to the court for its illegal possession, for which he may face a penalty of up to eight years in prison – stressed Perkowska-Kiepas.
