The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) on Tuesday updated the warning regarding the detection of salmonella bacteria on egg shells. “As a result of the investigation, it was found that only Royal Eggs are subject to recall” – we read.

Last Wednesday GIS has published a public warning regarding the finding of Salmonella Enteritidis on the surface of egg shells. “As a result of the investigation, it was found that only ‘Jaja Królewski’, best eaten before: June 18, 2023, the code on the shells 3PL14371391 is subject to withdrawal and is subject to a warning” – it was announced in a communiqué updated on Tuesday. The original information referred to two recalled products.

The producer of “Jaj Królewskie” is the “KOKO” Egg Packing Company Grzegorz JabÅ‚oÅ„ski.

Salmonella on egg shells

The inspectorate stressed that “the batch of eggs specified in this warning should not be eaten, especially raw, due to the potential health risk”. “It should also be remembered that bacteria present on the surface of the shells can be transferred to other surfaces as a result of contact with contaminated eggs” – noted.

GIS reported that the owner of the plant, in consultation with the recipient, is carrying out the withdrawal of eggs. Recalled eggs will be sent for recycling.
