Łomża County. He will be charged with attempted rape. He allegedly poured flammable liquid on two other people and tried to set them on fire

The District Prosecutor's Office in Łomża is conducting an investigation against Mirosław S., who is suspected of trying to rape a woman. The crime allegedly took place on March 15 in one of the towns in the Łomża district.

According to the findings, the man grabbed the victim by the neck and – threatening to kill her – tried to have sexual intercourse.

“(…) tried to throw her to the ground, grabbed her and touched her in her private parts, locked the room they were in, but did not achieve his goal due to the victim's resistance and escape through the window, and caused numerous injuries to the victim's body. abrasions and scratches on the chest, which impaired the proper functions of the body for a period of less than seven days,” reads the statement from the prosecutor's office.

Mirosław S. allegedly attacked two other people on the same day.

“(…) he doused them with a flammable liquid in the form of fuel oil mixed with gasoline, which he then tried to ignite with a lighter, but he did not achieve his goal due to the injured parties moving away from him and the inability to start the fire with a lighter,” the prosecutor's office informs.

Then – according to the statement – the man poured flammable liquid on a car belonging to one of the attacked people and also tried to set it on fire. This time, however, there was no arson.

According to the prosecutor's office, the man will be held responsible for attempted rape, violation of the functions of a body organ lasting no longer than seven days, attempted murder and destruction of property.

“At the request of the prosecutor, the District Court in Łomża applied a preventive measure to Mieczysław S. in the form of pre-trial detention for a period of three months. Further investigations in the case are currently ongoing,” the statement reads.
