A farmer came across an unexploded ordnance while working in the field. After the arrival of the services on the spot, it turned out that there are many more bullets in this place.

Spokeswoman for the Poviat Police Headquarters in Kozienice, Ilona Tarczyńska, informed on Sunday that a farmer came across unexploded ordnance while performing field work in the Magnuszew commune. The policemen confirmed that these were artillery shells and a sapper patrol was called to the place.

– Until the arrival of the sappers, the uniforms secured the dangerous find. Sappers from the 34th patrol from Dęblin extracted the missiles and took them for neutralization at the training ground – said the policewoman.

She noted that over a hundred bullets were found.

What to do when we find an unexploded ordnance?

The police remind you that despite the passage of many years, the earth still hides a lot of various types of unexploded ordnance throughout Poland, which are extracted by military seekers and during construction or field work.

Such finds must not be touched under any circumstances, let alone moved or disarmed. The place where a dangerous object has been found should be protected against access by unauthorized persons, especially children. If we are in the open or in the forest, this place should be marked in such a way that no one can enter it and that it can be easily found.

Report the find to the police as soon as possible. Officers will secure the area and notify sappers.
