The Kielce prosecutor’s office filed an indictment against Łukasz D., who allegedly killed his mother’s dog with particular cruelty. According to investigators, after an argument with a woman, the 41-year-old shot the animal with a firearm and then finished it off with an axe. The man pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
The District Prosecutor’s Office of Kielce Wschód filed an indictment against Łukasz D. The man is accused for killing his mother’s dog with extreme crueltyand of possessing a firearm without a license and threatening his sister with it.

Prosecutor’s office: fired a gun, hit with an axe
The incident took place on June 5 last year in the commune of Masłów near Kielce (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship). According to the police, one of the residents of the commune informed the services that her son, who was under the influence of alcohol, had killed the dog. As she explained to the officers, there was an argument earlier between her and the 41-year-old.
After the altercation, the man reportedly returned to his home, and then back to his mother’s house, armed with a firearm. “Then he fired it at a mixed-race dog and then struck several blows with the axe. Then he dragged the carcass of the animal on a chain along the ground and hid it. So far, it has not been found – said Beata Zielińska-Janaszek, the head of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Kielce East, in an interview with tvn24.pl.
Zielińska-Janaszek emphasized that Łukasz D. did not admit to committing the alleged acts, but the prosecutor’s office “has a recording recorded by one of the man’s family members, as well as expert opinions that confirmed the facts.” Among other things, traces of blood belonging to the animal were secured.
– The defendant initially confirmed that he was involved in an altercation with his mother. During one of the subsequent interrogations, he confessed to killing the dog, but ultimately pleaded not guilty to any of the charges against him. He changed his explanations many times – said Zielińska-Janaszek.
The court ordered neither detention nor police supervision. The man had previously been convicted
In June, the Kielce prosecutor’s office applied for the temporary arrest of the 41-year-old. At that time, the court did not grant the request, nor did it order any other libertarian preventive measures, such as police supervision. Although the prosecution appealed the decision, the district court upheld the lower court’s decision.
The prosecutor’s office informed that the 41-year-old had already been punished for crimes against life and health in the past, as well as – many times – for driving while intoxicated. In the past, he was sentenced to four months in prison, among other things.
