In order to start a rebellion, Yevgeny Prigozhin withdrew from the Ukrainian front almost all mercenaries of his Wagner Group formation, the independent Russian portal Meduza wrote on Saturday evening. Representatives of the Ukrainian army claim that during the “rally” of the Wagnerians towards Moscow, the number of enemy shelling decreased.

– I was at the Wagner base, they left two crippled at the gate – said Meduza’s interlocutor, fighting in the ranks of the army of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic, who – as this independent portal pointed out – knows many mercenaries of this formation.

I heard they all left. They were not told where and why they were going, they were simply told to pack quickly. And take as much fuel with you as possible.

Yevgeny Prigozhin called his “raid” on Moscow a “march of justice”. It set off on Friday late evening from Rostov-on-Don towards the capital. He claimed that 25,000 mercenaries of his formation participated in the “march”, although this number, as reported by Meduza, is difficult to verify.

A reservist from the Belgorod region told Meduza that “he is confused because he no longer knows where his own and where the enemies are.” He was surprised that Prigozhin had withdrawn his men from the Ukrainian front. – He took Bakhmut, immobilized large Ukrainian reserves. He’s a winner, why would he start this? he asked rhetorically.

Telephones to residents of Moscow

Meduza reported that the residents of the capital itself, who had nothing to do with the mercenaries, were also offered to join the “march” on Moscow. Several interlocutors to the independent portal said they received calls on Saturday with such proposals. – They allegedly called from the Wagner Group and claimed that Rostov-on-Don was under their control and that they were waiting for me in the square on Saturday to support true patriots Russia one of them said.

Calls to Moscow were supposed to come from numbers registered in Kazakhstan. Meduza was unable to confirm whether they belonged to the Wagner Group.

Less shelling

The Russian occupiers did not panic, but were confused by the events in their own country, Natalia Humeniuk, a spokeswoman for the Ukrainian South Command, informed about the recent events in Russia.

Humeniuk added that against the backdrop of the failed revolt of Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Wagner Group mercenary formation, the situation on the Ukrainian front has not changed significantly – the shelling from the Russian army was less intense that day.
