MOL announces that this summer 100 service stations in Poland should operate under the brand of the Hungarian company. By the end of 2024, the new sign is to gain 80 percent of the petrol stations taken over as a result of the merger of Orlen and Lotos, announced Richard Austen, President of MOL Polska.

As part of remedial measures related to the merger of Orlen and Lotos, MOL took over the majority, i.e. 410, of the gas stations of the Gdańsk concern. The agreement on this matter was signed at the end of November 2022. In turn, the PKN Orlen network was expanded by about 100 Lotos service stations.

At the beginning of February we reported that MOL launched the first petrol station under its brand in Poland. Most stations are to change signage by the end of 2024. – Our agreement with PKN Orlen gives us some time to carry out the rebranding process, but we want to do it as soon as possible. By the end of 2024, we plan to change the signs of 80 percent of our stations operating in Poland, said Richard Austen, President of MOL Polska, in an interview with the Polish Press Agency.

– In this summer, the first 100 stations should already operate under the MOL brand. We have already launched three new stations – in Klemencice, Przywy and Budykierz, conveniently located on the S7 and S8 expressways. In addition, the stations in Radom and ElblÄ…g have recently received a new branding and refreshed decor, noted Austen.

As he said, the rebranding of a single station in the MOL standard costs PLN 60-100 thousand. dollars, depending on the technical condition of a particular facility.

According to Richard Austen’s assurances, “ultimately, all 410 stations purchased from PKN Orlen in Poland will operate under the MOL brand”. – Additionally, within the MOL Group, there are also 85 stations operating in southern Poland under the Slovnaft Partner brand. In the future, we will explore the possibility of consolidating these outlets under one brand, he pointed out.

Petrol stations in Poland

At the end of March 2023, PKN Orlen had the most stations in Poland – 1919. BP was in second place. In our country, there were 578 stations belonging to the concern. MOL – summing up Lotos Paliwa and Slovnaft stations – is on the lowest step of the podium in terms of the number of service stations in Poland.

In fourth place is Shell with 455 stations, fifth Moya – 404 stations, and sixth CircleK – 397.

– We treat entering the Polish market as the first step. Ultimately, we want to take a strong second position here, and for this we will need to strengthen our network by another 100 stations – announced the president of MOL Polska.
